Vegan French Toast Recipe
If you thought you'd miss out on this classic treat when you went vegan, think again! Enjoy all the flavour of the real deal, plus 15g of plant based protein.
Ingredients
250 g Baguette (stale, slices)
0.5 cup Silken tofu
0.75 cup Soy milk (vanilla, sweetened)
1 tsp Salt
2 units Dates
2 tsp Cinnamon (ground)
0.5 tsp Cornstarch
1 tbsp Avocado oil
1 tbsp Maple syrup
Instructions
Begin heating your pan. Add tofu, soy milk (cold), salt, cinnamon, and cornstarch to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
Once the pan is hot, grease with grapeseed oil, and dip the slices of stale bread in your tofu mixture. Then, immediately place each slice in the pan, and cook on each side until golden brown.
Serve with maple syrup.
