Vegan hummus 4 ways

Basic Hummus Recipe

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 0.3 cup water

  • 1 whole lemon (juiced)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp cumin

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 0.25 bunch parsley (fresh)

  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil (and extra for topping)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  1. Blend all ingredients (except parsley and paprika) together in a high-speed blender or food processor. Add more water for a creamier texture.

  2. Transfer hummus to a bowl, and top with chopped parsley, paprika, and some more extra virgin olive oil.

  3. Serve with pita or raw celery sticks, bell peppers and/or carrots.


Red Beet Hummus Recipe

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 0.2 cup water (filtered)

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 0.5 whole roasted beet

  • 2 tbsp roasted pine nuts

  • 1 whole lemon (juice)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 cloves garlic

  1. Combine all ingredients (except pine nuts and 0.5 tbsp olive oil) in your food processor or blender. Blend on high until everything is fully incorporated. Texture should be very creamy.

  2. Garnish with pine nuts and olive oil, and serve with pita or raw veggies.


Kalamata Olive Hummus Recipe

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 0.2 cups water (filtered)

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 whole lemon (juiced)

  • 2 tbsp kalamata olives (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp kalamata olive juice

  • 0.3 bunch parsley (fresh)

  • 1 tsp olive oil (extra virgin)

  • 3 cloves garlic

  1. Combine all ingredients (except 1 tbsp chopped kalamata olives) in your food processor or blender, and blend on high until a creamy texture is achieved. If needed, add more water.

  2. Garnish with the rest of the chopped kalamata olives. Serve with pita and/or raw veggies.


Avocado Hummus Recipe

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 0.3 cup water (filtered)

  • 1 whole hass avocado (seeded)

  • 2 whole lemons (juiced)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 0.5 tsp cumin (ground)

  • 0.25 bunch parsley (fresh)

  • 1 tbsp cilantro (fresh, chopped)

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

  1. Combine all ingredients in your food processor or blender (except cilantro and avocado oil), and blend until creamy texture is achieved.

  2. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and avocado oil. Serve with pita and/or raw veggies.
